Hey everyone! Recently, I got the opportunity to shoot Gojira (a heavy metal band from France) at Emo's.

This band definitely knows how to rock, and I'm so happy that I was given the chance to capture their show in Austin.

Gojira is truly an amazing band. Their sound is something else -- I almost couldn't stop rocking out while I was taking these photos! If you haven't heard of them already, be sure to check them out.

So this is my first blog post and I just want to give you a little insight into why this is a special one.

Being able to shoot this show for my own website was a milestone event for me -- I remember just a year ago, I was given my very first photo pass at this same venue while working for Austin Underground. And today, I got to shoot this band for my own website.

In just the past year, with my camera in hand, I've met wonderful and inspiring humans, gone to countless shows to shoot just for the fun and experience, maneuvered my 4'10" self through rowdy crowds to get that 'perfect shot', and spent hours relearning everything I knew about editing photos to find my own aesthetic. Honestly, a year ago, I didn't even edit my concert photographs... in fact, I just got Lightroom this year. I'm still learning every day. It's a lot of hard work for no pay (yet) but I absolutely love it. All of this is worth it for the experience and pure joy I get from taking photographs. I definitely was in a rut for the first few years of college, but I'm so happy to get back into doing what I love and to be surrounded by such supportive and ambitious individuals. Without them I wouldn't be where I am now (so thank you, if you're reading this). I can't wait to see where I'll be a year from now.

I plan on doing blog posts for all of the shows I'm able to shoot, so keep this page in your bookmarks if you enjoy music photography. I also plan to expand my website - so stay tuned for that.

I am so excited to share these with you all.

I worked hard on these photos and I hope you like them!

Thanks for reading, and enjoy. :-)
